From Here To There - Albert Whitman&Co

This picture book will come out next month! It's a very sweet story written by American picture book author Sue Fliess, about Here and There who can't be together as Here is always here and There is always there, so they become pen pals and through a fantastic idea they get to spend some time together...
This would make a great present for a special friend!

Coming Soon - Our ABC of Yoga

Yay, finally I can reveal what I've been working on for over a year: My book called Our ABC of Yoga will be published this September by Quarto Books USA and is now available to pre order via their website. Here's what it's about:
Pairing simplified yoga poses with alphabetized animals and objects, ABC Yoga features colorful illustrations of children and animals practicing yoga along with playful rhymes to explain each movement. A fun family read, this interactive title is perfect for teaching toddlers their ABCs, as well as introducing them to familiar animals and basic, simplified yoga poses that promote health and well-being. Each letter of the alphabet is paired with an engaging illustration mimicking the various animals' natural movements. Clever rhymes explain how toddlers (and their parents!) can copy the poses, each of which encourage movement, physical fitness, and mental health. The 26 yoga poses, one for each letter of the alphabet, are renamed for easy understanding, while an index at the end of the book identifies the correct name for each asana (yoga pose) for the adults. The engaging illustrations and playful rhymes encourage children and their parents to get up and move, promoting physical activity, learning, and togetherness.

Pablo's Travelling Notebook

Pablo's Travelling Notebook is now out, by Oxford University Press Australia!
Pablo starts sketching in his notebook but then loses it in the airplane cabin and other kids who find the journal add their own travel adventures to it.
When I illustrated this book I was also preparing for a long distance flight to one of the countries featured - South Africa!
Here are some of my favourite images from the book:

Irem from Turkey

Irem from Turkey and her granpda take her little brother to buy some sweets on the spice market...but he has gone missing! He turns up later in the story again, he got distracted by a pastry shop.

Layla from India

Today it's Layla from India. She's fast asleep whilst her neighbour Suraj is trying out the new pencils she gave him...he's only 7 but he's worked all evening with his mum selling puffed rice outside the cinema hall. This story is part of my One Day book by Bloomsbury.

Hanif from Indonesia

It's Hanif from Indonesia here, he woke up early and wants to play cards with his sister because it's too wet to play outside. Steamy air is coming in through the window from the puddles outside.
Hanif's little story is part of One Day by Bloomsbury.

Mani from DR Congo

Today it's Mani from DR Congo! He, his mum and baby brother left their village and are now staying at his uncle's house. Mani misses his ducks and neighbours and selling sweets at the market.
